Position: Partner & Head of M&A and Corporate Finance
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time
Job objective
Partner & Head of M&A and Corporate Finance leads the firm’s transactional practice, advising national and international clients on complex corporate, financing, and M&A matters. You will play a key role in structuring high-value deals, building and mentoring a legal team, and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and advise on complex corporate restructurings, including post M&A reorganization, carve-outs, integrations, and spin-offs
- Structure and execute domestic and cross-border M&A, including public takeovers and private sales
- Advise on management buyouts (MBOs) and management buy-ins (MBIs) with strategic, tax, and financial structuring in mind
- Guide clients through disposals of assets or subsidiaries, including distressed sales and strategic divestments
- Act as lead counsel for private equity transactions, including buy-side and sell-side deals, minority investments, and exits
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the firm’s M&A and Corporate Finance client base.
- Advise issuers, sponsors, and underwriters on equity and debt capital markets transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings, and bond issuances
- Cultivate and expand long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagement
- Develop business development strategies, contribute to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events), and represent the firm at industry conferences
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goals
Requirements
Education:
- Swiss bar admission and first-class qualification
- Excellent academic credentials in law (Master’s degree / PhD)
- Additional studies in business law or financial law
Professional experience:
- 10+ years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, or private equity, ideally with a top-tier law firm or in-house legal function of a financial institution
Languages:
- Stylistically confident, appropriate English and German
- Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an asset
