Position: Partner & Head of Litigation
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time

Job objective

The Partner & Head of Litigation is responsible for leading the firm’s dispute resolution and litigation practice, providing strategic counsel and high-level representation to national and international clients in complex commercial, civil, and regulatory disputes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement litigation strategies tailored to the commercial, regulatory, and reputational objectives of the client
  • Manage and oversee complex civil and commercial litigation, including cross-border disputes and high-value claims
  • Represent clients in a wide range of disputes, including:
    ✓ Civil and commercial disputes, including contract enforcement and shareholder conflicts
    ✓ Capital markets litigation, including prospectus liability, securities fraud, and investor litigation
    ✓ Banking and stock exchange disputes, including regulatory enforcement and transactional disputes
    ✓ Regulatory and compliance-related disputes with Swiss and international authorities
    ✓ Contractual disputes involving breach of obligations, warranties, and indemnities
    ✓ Arbitration and mediation proceedings, both domestic and international
  • Represent clients before Swiss courts, international arbitral tribunals, and regulatory bodies
  • Lead and further develop the litigation and dispute resolution practice of the firm
  • Cultivate and expand long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagement
  • Develop business development strategies, contribute to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events), and represent the firm at industry conferences
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goals

Requirements

Education:

  • Swiss bar admission and first-class qualification
  • Excellent academic credentials in law (Master’s degree / PhD)
  • Additional studies in business law or financial law

Professional experience:

  • 10 + years of proven work experience as a lawyer, preferably in a Partner role in a law firm, auditing firm, or senior level in-house legal department of bank or asset management companies

Languages:

  • Stylistically confident, appropriate English and German
  • Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an asset

  • High level of integrity, professional credibility, and discretion
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and resilient under pressure
  • Charismatic and confident, with the ability to represent the firm at conferences and industry forums

  • Established client network and ability to attract new mandates (existing book of business is a strong plus)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to build and grow
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of legal professionals
  • Experience in internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and promoting best practices
