Position: Partner & Head of Capital Markets
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time

Job objective

Partner & Head of Capital Markets is responsible for leading and developing the firm’s capital markets practice, positioning the firm as a trusted legal advisor in equity, debt, and hybrid capital transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the structuring and execution of capital markets transactions, including IPOs, rights offerings, private placements, bond issuances, convertible instruments, and structured products
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory issues related to capital raising, listing procedures, disclosure obligations, and corporate governance
  • Ensure compliance with Swiss and international regulations (e.g. FinSA, FinIA, MAR, EU Prospectus Regulation, listing rules of the SIX Swiss Exchange and other relevant exchanges)
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documentation, including prospectuses, offering memoranda, underwriting agreements, and shareholder communications
  • Manage relationships with regulators, stock exchanges, underwriters, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Drive the acquisition of new mandates and expand the firm’s presence in the capital markets space
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with other practice groups (e.g. M&A, banking, regulatory, tax) to deliver integrated legal solutions
  • Cultivate and expand long-term client relationships through highquality service and proactive engagement
  • Develop business development strategies, contribute to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events), and represent the firm at industry conferences
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goals

Requirements

Education:

  • Swiss bar admission and first-class qualification
  • Excellent academic credentials in law (Master’s degree / PhD)
  • Additional studies in business law or financial law

Professional experience:

  • 10 + years of proven work experience as a lawyer, preferably in a partner role in a law firm, auditing firm, or senior level in-house legal department of bank or asset management companies

Languages:

  • Stylistically confident, appropriate English and German
  • Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an asset

  • High level of integrity, professional credibility, and discretion
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and resilient under pressure
  • Charismatic and confident, with the ability to represent the firm at conferences and industry forums

Leadership skills

  • Established client network and ability to attract new mandates (existing book of business is a strong plus)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to build and grow the firm’s funds practice
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of legal professionals
  • Experience in internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and promoting best practices
